The basics
121ProData pricing is very simple to calculate and is made up from four elements.
- The royalty fee to Ofcom for cleaning the numbers against each of the lists
- The fee to clean against the telephone preference list (TPS)
- The fee to clean against the corporate telephone preference list (CTPS)
- Value added tax (VAT)
Royalty fees explained
The TPS and CTPS registers are the property of Ofcom and they levy two charges for their use, a licence fee and a per number royalty. 121prodata hold a license to offer cleaning services and declares the numbers checked against each of the register for royalty purposes.
Your numbers must be declared for royalty once each year for each of the registers that they have been cleaned against.
If you are refreshing the TPS status of a fixed database throughout the year we need only collect royalty fee’s once in the year for that database. If you are adding new numbers or databases we are obliged to collect the royalty on behalf of Ofcom for the new numbers as you add them.
TPS or CTPS cleaning?
To calculate the price you need to decide whether to clean against one or both of the registers.
If you are only calling domestic subscribers it’s easy, you only need to clean against the TPS.
If you are calling businesses you must check against the CTPS and you may need to check against the TPS as well. The CTPS includes corporate bodies such as limited companies, schools, hospitals, charities and government institutions. However, sole traders and partnerships are listed on the TPS so if you have any doubt as to the status of your business prospects you should clean against both registers.
